Did Jason Kelce just rescind his retirement decision?

Following the Eagles' devastating 32-9 loss to the Buccaneers in the wild-card round of the playoffs, center Jason Kelce reportedly told his teammates that he is retiring, per ESPN's Adam Schefter

However, since then, Kelce revealed on his "New Heights" podcast that he has, in fact, not made a decision on retirement yet.

"I didn't announce what I was doing on purpose," Kelce said. "I just don't think you're in a position after a game like that to really make that decision. I just don't. There's too much emotion in the moment to really fully grasp that decision."

That doesn't necessarily mean Kelce won't announce his retirement in the coming days. But it seems he wants to do it on his own terms after putting together an incredible 13-year NFL career that included a Super Bowl LII championship and is likely to end in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"When it's time to officially announce what's happening in the future, it'll be done in a way that's definitive and pays a lot of respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and has led to the career I've had," Kelce added. "But I did address the team and pretty much said the same thing that I just said to you."

The six-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler was clearly filled with emotion after the game and on his podcast, meaning an official announcement is likely on the way soon.

Kelce has certainly earned the right to make it himself when he is ready.

Philadelphia has some big decisions to make this offseason with several players set to become free agents after the season. Although it's not official quite yet, the loss of Kelce is still likely to be added to the equation, which will be a big blow to one of the best offensive lines in the league.
