Eagles Receive Concerning AJ Brown Injury Update
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Philadelphia Eagles’ star wide receiver AJ Brown sustained an injury during the opening quarter of last week’s regular season finale against the New York Giants.

As the Eagles officially commenced their practice week for Monday’s Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brown conspicuously remained absent from the field.

He was among three Philadelphia players listed as non-participants in practice, alongside safeties Reed Blankenship, nursing a groin injury, and Sydney Brown, recovering from a torn ACL. Notably, both Blankenship and Sydney Brown also sustained their injuries during the game against the Giants.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts, who suffered a finger injury in the Eagles’ 27-10 loss to New York, was designated as having limited participation in practice, as was wide receiver Britain Covey.

In a potentially concerning development, Hurts informed reporters that he has refrained from throwing a football since Sunday. However, he expressed optimism about the progress he has been making.

“Obviously leaving that game and attempting to go back into that game probably wasn’t physically the best idea, not having much control over the things that I wanted to do. But time will tell with that, and I can assure you things are progressing in the right way.”

The Philadelphia Eagles are slated to face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 8 p.m. ET on Monday night, with the game set to be broadcast on ESPN/ABC. Hopefully, but Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown will be good to go.
