MAY 24 FALCONS AWARDED MARKETING RIGHTS IN GERMANY

There may be a boost of Atlanta Falcons fans in Germany in the months and years to come.

The NFL announced that the Falcons have been awarded international marketing rights in Germany.

"We're a leading club in supporting the military and Germany is one of the largest countries in terms of U.S. bases," Falcons team president Greg Beadles said. "It feeds in naturally to what we already do."

The NFL began an International Series in Germany last year and another game has been scheduled there for 2023. It's a tradition that's expected to continue, and it may not be long until the Falcons are part of it.

MAY 23 IFEDI SIGNS WITH LIONS

Just a week after the Atlanta Falcons parted ways with veteran offensive lineman Germain Ifedi, he has a new home.

According to NFL Network, Ifedi is signing with the Detroit Lions.

Ifedi was a backup for the Falcons last season, but appeared in all 17 games for Atlanta. Now, he looks to make the Lions roster out of training camp.

MAY 22 FALCONS, DOLPHINS JOINT PRACTICES

Ahead of their preseason game this August, the Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins will have a chance to get to know each other a little better.

According to NFL Network, the Falcons and Dolphins will practice together during training camp.

The two teams will  meet on Aug. 8 & 9 before their game against one another on Aug. 11 in South Florida.

MAY 19 JIM BROWN PASSES AWAY

The NFL community is mourning Friday after Jim Brown, arguably the best running back in NFL history, died at the age of 87.

His wife announced his passing on social media.

Brown was born February 17, 1936 in St. Simons Island, Georgia, but moved to New York when he was eight years old.

From there, he dazzled at Syracuse University and was the No. 6 pick in the 1957 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. In nine seasons with the Browns, he won the league's MVP award three times and helped lead Cleveland to the 1964 NFL championship.

MAY 15 FALCONS SIGN LACALE LONDON

The Atlanta Falcons are adding some depth to the defensive line.

According to Aaron Wilson, the Falcons have signed defensive lineman LaCale London to a new contract.

London, 25, went undrafted in 2020 and was signed by the Chicago Bears. Ryan Pace was the general manager at the time in Chicago, and now he's a senior executive for the Falcons, continuing a trend of former Bears signing with the Falcons.

MAY 14 FALCONS SIGN XFL STANDOUT

The Atlanta Falcons continue to add to their team.

According to Aaron Wilson, the Falcons have signed offensive lineman Barry Wesley to a deal. Wesley went undrafted out of Colorado State in 2022.

Wesley participated in the team's rookie minicamp after playing well for the XFL's Seattle Sea Dragons.

Now, Wesley looks to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster this summer at training camp.

MAY 13 FALCONS SIGN LB, WR, DB

Former Buffalo Bills linebacker Andre Smith is signing with the Falcons, as first reported by Aaron Wilson

Smith, 26, is a former seventh-round pick who played five games for the Titans last year.

Per NFL Network, the team is also signing wide receiver Slade Bolden, who worked out for the team earlier this month and appeared at rookie minicamp.

Bolden, a member of the 2020 National Championship team at Alabama, was a member of the Baltimore Ravens in his rookie season but never played in the regular season for the team.

Additionally, Atlanta signed defensive back Clifford Chattman, another minicamp attendee, he announced via social media.

Chattman, who stands 6-5, 201 pounds, spent the past two seasons at UTSA after starting his college career at Texas A&M. He earned first-team All-Conference USA at safety this past season with a stat sheet headlined by five interceptions.

Every NFL social media team gets an opportunity to flex their creative muscles and reveal the schedule.

This year, the Atlanta Falcons got some help from local rapper Quavo and various TikTok stars to reveal the schedule.

MAY 10 FALCONS TO OPEN SEASON VS. PANTHERS

The Atlanta Falcons’ full 2023 schedule will be released Thursday night, but some games have already been leaked - including the season opener.

According to WSB-Atlanta, the Falcons will host the Carolina Panthers in Week 1, meaning first overall pick Bryce Young will make his professional debut under center in Atlanta.

The Falcons are poised to throw second-year quarterback Desmond Ridder onto the field for his fifth career start and first in a season opener, filled with hope that he’ll have many more to come.

The start time and channel haven’t yet been announced but will be finalized shortly …

MAY 10 LONDON TO LONDON 

Drake London is involved in the 'NFL International Series' … and so are the rest of the Falcons.

It’ll be Week 4 across the pond, with the rest of the team’s schedule slated for a Thursday release. But care to pack your bags? Here’s who is traveling … The NFL international 2023 schedule:

MAY 9 KROY BIERMANN, KIM ZOLCIAK DIVORCED

After 11 years of marriage, former Atlanta Falcons defensive end Kroy Biermann and Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak are filing for divorce, per sources.

The news comes it was revealed that the pair owe over $1 million in taxes.

Biermann was a fifth-round pick for the Falcons back in 2008 and played for the team until 2015.

MAY 8 MARLON DAVIDSON TO 49ERS

A former member of the Atlanta Falcons is getting a second chance in the NFL.

According to ESPN, the San Francisco 49ers are signing Marlon Davidson to a one-year deal.

Davidson was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Falcons, and while he showed flashes of potential in his first two seasons, he failed to live up to his pre-draft hype. When Davidson succumbed to injury in 2022, he was cut by the team in October.

Now, a new chapter begins for Davidson as he tries to make the 49ers' roster out of training camp.

MAY 4 BIJAN TO ROOKIE PREMIERE

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is among the 45 recent draftees invited to the annual NFL "Rookie Premiere" event.

Robinson will join fellow top-10 picks Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Will Anderson, Anthony Richardson, Tyree Wilson and Jalen Carter at the event.

The event takes place from May 18-21 in Los Angeles.

MAY 3 BIJAN, CHASE LINK UP

Atlanta Falcons rookie Bijan Robinson is learning from some of the best athletes in the NFL, including Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase.

In his first two NFL seasons, Chase and the Bengals have gone to consecutive AFC Championship Games, and lost Super Bowl LVI to the Los Angeles Rams. Robinson hopes that some of that success can rub off him and the Falcons can benefit from it.

APRIL 28 ABRAHAM ANNOUNCEMENT

The Atlanta Falcons will likely welcome the latest member of their team in Round 2 of tonight's NFL Draft with the No. 44 pick.

And whoever he is will be welcomed to the franchise by legendary defensive end John Abraham.

Abraham, who played seven seasons with the Falcons from 2006-12, will be announcing the team's second-round pick this evening should the team remain in the round.

APRIL 27 LAMAR JACKSON SIGNS EXTENSION

Another quarterback conundrum has been solved ahead of the NFL Draft.

According to NFL Network, the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson have agreed to a contract extension.

Despite a lot of wedges between the Ravens and Jackson, it appears the two sides have figured out their differences in order to continue their partnership for many years to come.

APRIL 26 MOORE ARRESTED 

Atlanta Falcons ex William Moore was arrested this week for an incident in Gwinnett County.

Moore is facing charges including aggravated assault, child cruelty, criminal damage to property, and possession of a firearm or knife during commission of a crime. Reportedly, Moore was involved in making threatening statements to children playing in a local park.

Moore was chosen by the Falcons in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft played for Atlanta until 2016.

APR 24 PACKERS TRADE AARON RODGERS TO JETS

The saga is officially over.

After months, if not years, of trade talks, the Green Bay Packers have traded quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, per ESPN.

Rodgers is the centerpiece of a compensation-filled package in which the two sides flip first-round picks, giving the Packers pick No. 13 overall while the Jets slide back to No. 15.

Green Bay also receives picks Nos. 42 and 207 and a conditional 2024 second-round pick that becomes a first-round pick if Rodgers 65 percent of the Jets' offensive snaps. New York will receive pick No. 170 in addition to Rodgers.

APR 21 NFL SUSPENDS 5 PLAYERS FOR GAMBLING

Just over one year after former Atlanta Falcons, now Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Calvin Ridley was suspended for the entirety of the 2022 season due to gambling, the NFL has delivered similar fate to five more players.

The league announced Friday that four Detroit Lions - receivers Jameson Williams, Quintez Cephus and Stanley Berryhill and safety T.J. Moore - and Washington Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney have been suspended for violating the gambling policy.

Williams, a 2022 first-round pick, and Berryhill, who spent all of last offseason with the Falcons before being cut at the end of training camp, were both suspended six games, while Cephus, Moore and Toney were given one-year suspensions.

The Lions have since released Cephus and Moore.

APR 17 FALCONS POACH FORMER RIVAL

The Atlanta Falcons are adding depth to their offensive line.

According to his agency, the Falcons have signed former New Orleans Saints offensive lineman Ethan Greenridge.

Greenridge, 25, has been with the Saints since 2019 but has only played 15 games in his career, all during the 2020 season. He has been on injured reserve the past two seasons, but he is hoping to be healthy and competing for a backup offensive lineman spot for the Falcons in training camp.

APR 14 BYRD BACK TO CAROLINA

After one season as a member of the Atlanta Falcons, Damiere Byrd will return to the Carolina Panthers according to reports. 

Byrd returns to the Panthers where he spent the first four years of his career from 2015-18.

Since he last played in Carolina, Byrd has played with the Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots and Falcons.

As a member of the Falcons, Byrd totaled 268 yards and two touchdowns on 13 receptions while playing in 14 games. 

APR 11 BUCCANEERS LB DEVIN WHITE WANTS OUT

There could be more player movement in the NFC South in the coming months.

According to ESPN, Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Devin White has requested a trade.

The Bucs are hoping to exercise the fifth-year option on White's contract, but the Super Bowl champion linebacker is looking for a new home.

APR 9 ODELL SIGNS WITH RAVENS

Odell Beckham Jr. has a new home.

Beckham Jr. announced on Instagram that he has signed with the Baltimore Ravens.

OBJ did not play this past season, recovering from a torn ACL he suffered when his Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Now, he'll face the Bengals twice next season. It's possible that Beckham Jr. joining the Ravens could convince Lamar Jackson to remain with the team.

APR 7 KEANU NEAL TO PITTSBURGH

The Pittsburgh Steelers officially announced the signing of ex-Atlanta Falcons safety Keanu Neal. Neal signed a two-year contract which will see him leave the NFC South and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in favor of the Steelers. 

Neal will now be reunited with fellow ex-Falcon Damonate Kazee, being a part of the secondary under then-head coach Dan Quinn. In five seasons with the Falcons, Neal recorded 338 tackles, 15 for a loss, two interceptions, and forced eight fumbles, playing in 49 games over five seasons in Atlanta.

APR 6 COREY PETERS RETIRES

A former member of the Atlanta Falcons is hanging up his cleats.

Corey Peters, who played for the Falcons from 2010-14, announced his retirement on Instagram Thursday.

Peters also played for the Arizona Cardinals from 2015-21 and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022.
