Former Browns linebacker Jamie Collins Sr. retires from NFL after 12 year career

12 years in the NFL is a long time and that’s exactly how long a Cleveland Browns linebacker played before calling it a career.

Jamie Collins Sr. recently announced his retirement from the NFL. The two-time Super Bowl champion was with the Browns for 30 games from 2016-18.

Collins spent seven years with the New England Patriots and two seasons playing with the Detroit Lions.

In 105 games played, Collins made 708 tackles, 12 interceptions, 19 forced fumbles, and 26.5 sacks.

Cleveland traded for Collins midway through the 2016 season. His 2017 season didn’t go as planned due to a knee injury. In 2018, Collins had 104 tackles with the Browns in his lost complete season in Cleveland.

The Browns let him go in 2019, then Collins went back to the Patriots and was pretty good. For the next two seasons, Collins was with Detroit before having a third string in New England from 2021-22.

Collins leaves the NFL well accomplished as a champion and he leaves behind some pretty good stats during his 12 seasons played after being a second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.
