Former Michigan football player Craig Roh dies at 33 after cancer battle

Former Michigan football player Craig Roh has died following a battle with colon cancer that lasted over 18 months. He was 33 years old.

Roh's wife, Chelsea, announced the death of the former Wolverines player and provided a link to a GoFundMe, noting her late husband's future plans for his business and his family.

"I wanted to let all of his followers know that after an 18-month battle with Stage IV colon cancer, God brought Craig home on Monday, February 26th," Roh's wife said on Twitter.

"Craig was not very public with his battle, as he truly just wanted to focus on bringing the best content and building the best products he could. He laid out a timeline for his business so stay tuned... Many have asked how they can help."

Roh was originally ranked as the No. 7 defensive end and the No. 67 overall recruit in the nation, according to Rivals, prior to his commitment to Michigan in 2008.

He played in 12 games as a true freshman in the 2009 season, recording 37 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss to go with two sacks. 

Roh developed into a productive member of the Wolverines' defense over the next three years, finishing his college football career with 150 combined tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks.

Undrafted following his Michigan career, Roh signed with the Carolina Panthers for two seasons before moving onto the Canadian Football League, winning the Grey Cup with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019.
