The seasons of the Giants and 49ers are over, but the trash talk between their current and former players is red-hot. Even Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Strahan joined the fun.
While watching the Eagles' blowout victory over the 49ers on Sunday, Giants rookie defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux jokingly tweeted that New York may be better than the 49ers.
Ex-49ers offensive lineman Joe Staley responded on Twitter, calling Thibodeaux "a flash player who gets bodied by average tackles."
Thibodeaux responded with an epic takedown: "Who are you bro..."
Staley then went back on Twitter to insult Thibodeaux again.
Enough for u to respond. Congrats on your 4 sacks this year tho. that’s huge. Unbelievable numbers. https://t.co/nk3xNU1qCJ

Staley's Twitter assault on the defensive end did not sit well with Strahan, who delivered some epic verbiage of his own.
You also had a great career and should be proud. Don't go after a rookie and my kicker. @kayvont had 4 sacks this year. I had 2 1/2 on you you're rookie year and I was old at that point so don't forgot that. Let my young guy live!! #DADDY https://t.co/8vFvTH75Uo

It's not a surprise the Giants legend defended Thibodeaux, who as a kid watched Strahan play and idolizes him.
Former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes, who booted the winning field goal in the 2011 NFC Championship Game to beat Staley's 49ers, piled on Staley, too.
Hey @kayvont ask Joe if you can see his NFC Championship Rings?

You are a rookie so maybe you don’t know this but the “loser” of the Super Bowl gets a ring for winning their conference and he has two! https://t.co/c6UxA4Criz
Ah, boys will be boys.
