Inside Week 16 numbers: Detroit parties like it's 1993

Using Stathead from Pro Football Reference, Yardbarker shines a spotlight on key names and numbers from Sunday's NFL action:

Lions conquer Minnesota and NFC North: For the first time since 1993, the Detroit Lions are division champions. Their 30-24 win at the Minnesota Vikings clinched the NFC North and a home playoff game this January. 

On Sunday, the Lions reached another mark that hadn't been set since 1993: their 30 points were their most in a game at Minnesota since Oct. 31 of that season, a 30-27 Detroit win.

Dolphins finally lasso Cowboys: The Miami Dolphins' 22-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys was a long time coming. It was Miami's first win over Dallas since Nov. 27, 2003, a 40-21 Thanksgiving victory at Texas Stadium. 

For the Dolphins' last home win over the Cowboys, you'd have to go all the way back to Dec. 17, 1984, a 28-21 "Monday Night Football" victory at the Orange Bowl.

Falcons win ... comfortably?: It isn't often that the Atlanta Falcons win with room to spare, but such was the case Sunday with a 29-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. 19 points was Atlanta's largest margin of victory since Nov. 29, 2020, a 37-point win over Las Vegas. 

Since then, the Falcons were one of only two NFL teams that didn't win a game by at least 19 points. The only remaining team with such a drought is Minnesota. The Vikings' margin of victory hasn't been that large since Dec. 15, 2019, a 29-point win at the Chargers.

Houston's secondary combustion: Amari Cooper's 265 receiving yards set a single-game record for the Cleveland Browns in their 36-22 win at the Houston Texans. 

It tied Houston's franchise record for the most receiving yards allowed to one player. The Texans also surrendered 265 receiving yards to Buffalo's Lee Evans on Nov. 19, 2006.

Jets deck the Howells: Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell had an awful performance Sunday, completing just six of 22 passes for 56 yards and two interceptions in a 30-28 loss at the New York Jets. 

The last Washington quarterback to complete so few passes in so many attempts was Tim Hasselbeck, who went just 6-for-26 with 56 yards and four interceptions in a 27-0 loss to Dallas on Dec. 14, 2003.
