There's been plenty of speculation about Bengals running back Joe Mixon's future this offseason.

Would the team ask him to take a pay cut or release him due to his $12.7 million cap hit? Would his off-the-field issues impact his future?

Not only is Mixon still on the roster, but he's participated in the Bengals' offseason program. He recently praised Bengals owner and team president Mike Brown for sticking with him.

"What matters most is Mike Brown. He always comes up to me at practice and he’s always happy to see me and that is the best feeling, it doesn’t get better than that," Mixon told Elise Jesse in an exclusive interview. “He’s the owner and he makes the decisions and he embraced me since day one and I love Mike and I know Mike loves me too so that’s a great thing to have."

Mixon ran for 814 yards and seven touchdowns last season. He also had 60 receptions for 441 yards and two more scores. The Bengals took the 26-year-old in the second-round (48th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft.

"I feel like our front office, everybody is great to me and everybody has backed me 100%," Mixon said. "It's a great feeling to have the love and support that I get from them continuously, words really don’t explain how much that means to me.”

The Bengals re-signed Trayveon Williams this offseason and took Chase Brown in the fifth-round of the 2023 NFL Draft. They also have Chris Evans on the roster.

The trio of Mixon, Williams and Brown could lead the way in the Bengals' backfield this season.
