Kyler Murray wants contract situation resolved before NFL Draft?

Kyler Murray wants a new contract from the Arizona Cardinals, and he wants it in a timely fashion.

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated wrote in his weekly column on Monday that Murray wants his contract situation to be resolved before the NFL Draft. One of the reasons for that is that several teams are in need of a starting quarterback, and Murray knows there would be plenty of trade suitors for him. Said suitors would also likely be willing to sign him to a contract extension as well.

The other reason, according to Breer, is that NFL rules regarding holdouts are now stricter. Murray would face serious fines if he skips training camp. He also would be jeopardizing his team’s preparation for the upcoming season.

Murray is set to make $5.5 million in the fourth year of his rookie contract next season. His agent recently put out a statement confirming speculation that the former No. 1 overall pick is looking for a new deal. One report said Murray is willing to go to great lengths to secure a new contract.
