Los Angeles Rams Putting Top NFL Draft Pass-Rusher Through Private Workout

Despite not putting up gaudy numbers during his collegiate career, Robinson logged just 20 sacks through three collegiate seasons, including 17.5 in his two seasons as a Nittany Lion, he’s viewed as one of the most explosive prospects at the position.

At 6-foot-3 and 254 pounds, Robinson blew the roof off the NFL Combine, sending his already sky-high NFL Draft stock surging.

Not only did Robinson run the 40-yard dash in a blistering 4.48 seconds, he posted a 10-foot-8-inch broad jump and was timed at an explosive 4.25 seconds in the short-shuttle.

“Robinson might have the best combination of get-off and bend in this draft class,” the Bleacher Report Scouting Department writes of Robinson. “He’s lightning-quick off the ball and very flexible in his lower body.

“He’s a top-tier athlete which, combined with how well he sets up his pass-rush moves, gives him a ton of potential as an edge-rusher in the NFL. Robinson also has sneaky strength and is physical at the point of attack. That helps him take advantage of weaker offensive tackles when turning speed to power and overcome some of his size deficiencies as a run defender when his hands and leverage are right.”

What Los Angeles Rams Would Get in Robinson

It’s easy to see why the Rams might want to hop on a plane to go get an up-close look at Robinson. The explosively athletic former Nittany Lion would be an immediate upgrade to a pass-rush that logged just 41 sacks last season, the eighth-fewest in the NFL. Pro Football Focus points out that Robinson posted an elite 20.9 pass-rush win-rate during the 2023 season, while garnering a 92.3 pass-rush grade from the outlet.

The Rams could turn to Robinson to make up for some of the pass-rush production lost after Aaron Donald announced his retirement earlier this offseason, and particularly as an upgrade off the edge.
