Marshawn Lynch has to be one of my favorite NFL and Seahawks players of all-time. The running back of the unforgettable “beast quake”, one of the most iconic interviewed guests, and an overall lovable guy.

I have his Super Bowl 48 jersey and modeled a lot of my style of running back after him when I was in high school. He helped the Seahawks win their first Super Bowl and has always helped support the city of Seattle.

Despite my admiration for Lynch, he made a mistake. On Tuesday morning August 9th around 7am, he was arrested in Las Vegas for blowing past a 0.8 blood alcohol content.

Officers stopped Lynch at Fairfield Avenue and West Utah Avenue and “determined that Lynch was impaired and conducted an arrest,” according to the Las Vegas Police Department.

Las Vegas is starting to be a problem for current and former NFL players. For example, Alvin Kamara was arrested in Las Vegas back in February of 2022.

Lynch was also apparently driving with a missing tire on his vehicle.

Lynch’s bail was set at $3,381, USA Today reported, citing prison records. He was cited for a failure to refuse/surrender, a failure to drive in a travel lane and the vehicle he was driving was not registered, according to police.

Final Thoughts

Marshawn Lynch is one of those guys who is loved around the league and well-respected. But this will be a setback for him and potentially damaging to future brand deals. It is his second DUI since 2012 back in Oakland. I expect Lynch to bounce back from this mistake and stay out of trouble after this incident.

I still admire Marshawn Lynch for all he’s done for Seattle, but this will be a costly mistake that could impact his reputation going forward.
