Panthers Safety Suspended Two Games
USA TODAY Sports

Carolina Panthers safety Sean Chandler has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the 2023 season by the NFL after violating the league's Performance-Enhancing substance abuse policy.

Despite being suspended, Chandler is, however, eligible to participate in practices and preseason games.

Chandler, 26, totaled 19 tackles this season in 17 games played. He primarily played on special teams, playing in only 74 snaps on defense this past season. The Panthers have hinted at adding another safety to the mix this offseason and if they do so through the draft, that could indicate that they don't plan on bringing Chandler back. Not for defensive purposes, but rookies typically make their impact on special teams at the beginning of the year prior to earning some run at their true position.

Chandler is set to become an unrestricted free agent on March 15th.
