Ravens sign former Saints RB Latavius Murray to one-year deal

The Baltimore Ravens continue to add depth at running back following several devastating injuries to their core players at the position.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Ravens signed former New Orleans Saints running back Latavius Murray to a one-year deal on Friday.

Baltimore lost three of its top running backs before the regular season even began. Lead back J.K. Dobbins suffered a season-ending torn ACL, Justice Hill tore his Achilles and Gus Edwards tore his ACL during Thursday's practice.

In addition to Murray, the Ravens have added two-time All-Pro Le'Veon Bell and two-time Pro Bowler Devonta Freeman. The trio adds to the group of Ty'Son Williams and Trenton Cannon, who are already on the team's active roster.

Murray, a former Pro Bowler, spent the last two seasons of his career with the Saints. He ran for 656 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games last season, adding 23 catches for 176 yards and a score.

Murray has also played for the then-Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings. His best season came in 2015 when he ran for more than 1,000 yards and six touchdowns as a member of the Raiders.

The Ravens open the 2021 campaign Monday night against the Raiders.
