Report: Chiefs, 49ers, Panthers, Saints made 'preliminary inquiries' on Marlon Mack

The trade market is reportedly intensifying for Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack.

Per CBS Sports' Josina Anderson, there are a handful of notable NFL teams that have recently looked into potentially trading for the former 1,000-yard rusher.

The Kansas City Chiefs, Carolina Panthers and San Franciso 49ers have all dealt with significant injuries to their respective backfields this season, which likely led to them reaching out to discuss Mack's availability. Chiefs lead back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is currently on injured reserve, as is Christian McCaffrey of the Panthers.

For the Niners, JaMycal Hasty has been designated to return from IR, but Jeff Wilson is on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and Raheem Mostert was placed on season-ending IR in September.

While Alvin Kamara has been able to suit up every week for the New Orleans Saints, the club has been searching for a capable backup and signed Lamar Miller to their practice squad earlier this week.
