Report: Saints Hiring Kevin Carberry as Assistant Offensive Line Coach
USA TODAY Sports

It appears the Saints have backfilled the void left behind from the departure of Zach Strief. According to ESPN's Field Yates, New Orleans is hiring Kevin Carberry as their assistant offensive line coach. Carberry most recently spent the past two seasons with the Rams as their offensive line coach, but was fired in mid-January.

Carberry will now work under Doug Maronne and will be tasked with helping continue to develop the likes of Trevor Penning. Strief was instrumental in coaching the tackles during the season, while Maronne worked extensively with the interior linemen.

Dennis Allen's moves this offseason are certainly going to go under the microscope and will be crucial to success or failure for the Saints. The coaching staff has made a ton of impact over the past several years, and the team also have another position to backfill after losing Declan Doyle to the Broncos. We'll see how it all works, but things are starting to come together.
