Chad Johnson and Boomer Esiason are headed to the Bengals Ring of Honor.

The team made the announcement on Thursday morning.

“Boomer and Chad were both exceptional players,” Bengals President Mike Brown said in a statement. “If you look at the statistics, Boomer has a long list of quarterback firsts here. And Chad was a superb athlete who was probably the quickest receiver we have had here. They could have moments when they just carried the team by themselves. Both players are very deserving of this honor.”

They join Ken Anderson, Willie Anderson, Paul Brown, Isaac Curtis, Anthony Muñoz and Ken Riley in the Bengals Ring of Honor.

Esiason helped the Bengals reach Super Bowl XXIII and was named NFL MVP in 1988. Johnson is Cincinnati's all-time leader in receptions (751) receiving yards (10,783) and receiving touchdowns (66).

The 2023 ballot featured 13 former players. Season ticket holders voted from May 22-June 9.

Johnson and Esiason will be honored during halftime of the Bengals' Monday Night Football matchup against the Rams in Week 4 at Paycor Stadium.
