Saints Get One to 2024 Pro Bowl
USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Saints had just one player voted onto the 2024 Pro Bowl Games Roster. The 2024 will be a week long event of various skills competitions. It will culminate in a flag football game between the AFC and NFC in Orlando, FL on February 4.

Wide receiver and kick returner Rashid Shaheed was the only New Orleans player voted onto this year's squad. Three former Saints, OT Terron Armstead (Dolphins) and DE Trey Hendrickson (Bengals), were voted onto the AFC squad.

Shaheed is an undrafted player out of Weber State in his second season. He was a surprise breakout player for the Saints as a rookie, catching 28 passes for 488 yards and scoring three touchdowns despite a little over half the year with extensive action. This season, Shaheed has 43 receptions for 654 yards and four scores.

Shaheed was not voted to the Pro Bowl for his promising receiving ability. Instead, it was his explosive return skills that earned him his first Pro Bowl honor.

Shaheed has returned 23 punts for the Saints this season. His 14.1 per return is among the best in the NFL. At Green Bay in Week 3, he returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown, marking the first scoring return of his young career. He's also averaged over 21 yards on kickoff returns for the Saints this season.

Shaheed has averaged over 10 yards per punt return eight games this season. His return skills consistently gives New Orleans a field position advantage. The 8-8 Saints wrap up their regular season against the Atlanta Falcons at home on Sunday. A win keeps the Saints alive in the playoff hunt.
