Saints to Hire Jahri Evans to Coaching Staff
USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Saints are expected to hire former All-Pro G Jahri Evans to their coaching staff. First reported by Nola.com on Tuesday, the official announcement is expected in the next couple of days.

Evans will take the place of Zach Strief as an offensive line assistant under offensive line coach Doug Marrone. Strief departed this offseason to join Sean Payton's staff in Denver as the offensive line coach. Evans served as an intern for the Saints last preseason and worked closely with G Cesar Ruiz.

Jahri Evans was a fourth-round pick by the Saints in the 2006 NFL Draft out of Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. His offensive coordinator for his first two years was Marrone.

Evans was an immediate starter as a rookie. He was an integral part of the franchise's Super Bowl XLIV team and started 193 of a possible 200 games between 2006 and 2016 for New Orleans. Evans was a six-time Pro Bowler, including four All-Pro honors, and is considered one of the best linemen in Saints history.
