The New Orleans Saints executive vice president and general manager Mickey Loomis announced two standard elevations ahead of their game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Jan. 7.
Kraemer made appearances in Week 5 against the New England Patriots and Week 7 hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Saints are down two right tackles to close out the season, so Kraemer will provide depth behind this week's starter: Cameron Erving.
Mims has made just one appearance so far in 2023. The rookie running back was elevated and appeared for the Saints' special teams unit in Week 6. With star back Alvin Kamara a game-time decision and rookie rusher Kendre Miller dealing with injury, elevating a running back felt like a must this week.
The Mims elevation seems to insinuate that New Orleans wants to be ready just in case either Kamara or Miller can not play Sunday. It seems likely the Saints will lean on running back Jamaal Williams and offensive weapon Taysom Hill to lead the way in the run game one way or another.
