Three free agents Baltimore Ravens should target

Free agency is just around the corner as the new league year begins on March 13 at 4 p.m. ET.

However, the Ravens will need to make more moves to get under the salary cap as they are still $10 million over the $255.4M limit.

Once business is taken care of, here are three free agents Baltimore should target.

Guard John Simpson

Both Ravens starting guards, John Simpson and Kevin Zeitler, are slated to hit the open market next week. So, the first order of business should be to retain one of them, and that should be Simpson, who is still only 26 compared to 34-year-old Zeitler.

Simpson played on a one-year, $1.01 million deal last season, and while he won't come that cheap this time after allowing just one sack, he could still come at a hometown discount if he wants to return to the team.

Running back Derrick Henry

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported earlier this offseason that "some personnel people inside the league believe the Ravens will target a running back with pedigree in free agency."

Henry fits the bill as he has posted at least 1,000 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns in five of the last six seasons.

He would normally come at a much higher price tag, but Henry is now 30 and is one of several talented running backs on the open market this offseason. Plus, the running back position continues to be undervalued, which should only benefit Baltimore in contract talks.

Cornerback Tre'Davious White

The Ravens feel like they make this type of move every year — adding a veteran whose best days are behind him but squeezing whatever good ball he has left in him.

White was one of several salary-cap casualties for the Bills on Wednesday. While injuries have plagued his past two seasons, he could still be one of the best corners in the league when healthy.

Baltimore needs another corner to play opposite Marlon Humphrey since Ronald Darby and Rock Ya-Sin are both free agents. It would not be surprising if head coach John Harbaugh and his staff could help White return to form in 2024.
