T.J. Watt says 'time is now' for Steelers

The Steelers have been in a bit of a dry spell when it comes to postseason success as of late. However, LB T.J. Watt believes 2023 will be their year.

"I wanna do whatever it takes to win. I feel like we have a really good team here. We have a good nucleus. We have good, young talent," Watt said on "The Pat McAfee Show." "The time is now for us, and I feel like we can put it together."

Pittsburgh hasn't won a playoff game since the 2016 season, appeared in the Super Bowl since the 2010 season or won it all since the 2008 season.

The 2023 season will be Watt's seventh year in the league, and he has yet to win a playoff game.

The 28-year-old has earned numerous accolades thus far in his career, most notably being named the 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, but none of that matters to him.

"I love having high expectations. I have high expectations for myself," Watt added. "That's the thing about this point of my career is I want to win."

Some may think the Steelers are still a ways off from being real contenders, but never say never. One good offseason has proven to take teams from worst to first and Pittsburgh does have a solid foundation of young and talented players like Watt stated.
