Tom Brady's knee was 'not 100 percent' all 2020 NFL season?

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe raised eyes shortly after the Super Bowl LV matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs when he suggested that Tom Brady won his seventh career championship while dealing with a significant left knee injury.

Brady confirmed in early March he underwent surgery on that knee following his latest Super Bowl victory, and Buccaneers quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen told reporters Thursday the issue was bothering the 43-year-old signal-caller throughout the campaign held amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I don't think he was 100% last year," Christensen explained, per Jenna Laine of ESPN. Christensen added that Brady told him the morning after the Super Bowl that he was "gonna get my knee fixed up and I'm gonna be better next year and you're gonna be excited about that."

Interestingly, Christensen said in March that Brady called him the morning after the Super Bowl to discuss preparations for the 2021 campaign. The coach unsurprisingly failed to mention anything about his QB's knee at that time.

On Tuesday, Brady shared a video of him working out without wearing a brace or protective sleeve on his left knee. Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians previously said his QB1 "may be doing a lot of coaching" during next week's mandatory minicamp.
