Tua Tagovailoa hopes Dolphins select Najee Harris in 2021 draft

The Miami Dolphins have the third- and 18th-overall picks in the 2021 NFL Draft. Right now, it's unclear which players they may be targeting with those selections.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa recently indicated that he'd like to see the team draft Alabama running back Najee Harris.

"He's going to be a fun guy to watch this upcoming season," Tagovailoa said on the Yahoo Sports podcast, according to the New York Post. "Hopefully we're on the same team."

Most teams don't use their premium first-round picks on running backs, so Harris will likely be taken toward the end of the first round or into the second round. The only running back taken in the first round of the 2020 draft was Clyde-Edwards Helaire. Josh Jacobs was the only back in the first round of the 2019 draft and Saquon Barkley in the 2018 draft.

Harris would be a solid addition for the Dolphins, who struggled to run the ball last season. The 22-year-old ran for over 1,000 yards in each of his last two seasons at Alabama. In four seasons with the Crimson Tide, he ran for 3,843 yards and 46 touchdowns. He also had 80 catches for 781 yards and 11 scores.

If Miami takes Harris, he'll likely take over running back duties from Myles Gaskin.
