Watch: Darrelle Revis praises Deion Sanders with Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant comparison

Darrelle Revis was never one to back down in the NFL. During his induction speech into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he reiterated a bold claim he made earlier this year when praising the impact fellow Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders had on his career.

As loud as his game talked, Revis more than earned the right to put himself in the same bracket as those icons.

It's not the first time he's made the analogy. In February, days after being voted into the Hall of Fame, Revis told TMZ Sports, "As Kobe is to Jordan, 'Revis Island' is to 'Primetime' ... Jordan would always say, 'Kobe always stealing my moves!' I think that's the same [with me and Deion]. I tried to mimic the greats as much as I could."

According to former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, Revis isn't 100 percent correct. Writing for the 33rd Team, Vic Carucci quotes Tannenbaum as suggesting Revis is the M.J. of NFL cornerbacks.

"My opinion, completely biased, I think he's the greatest corner of all time," Tannenbaum said.

He drafted Revis in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft, hence the bias, but even without Gotham green-colored glasses, his point isn't too outlandish.

Tannenbaum noted, "Deion may have been a little bit of a better athlete, but I don't think he was a better football player. Darrelle was more physical ... and when you consider that part of your job description is tackling, I think, in my opinion, he will go down as the greatest corner to ever play."

His 473 tackles as a cornerback rank 11th among all corners from 2007-2017. He also had 139 career pass deflections, the fourth most among defensive backs during his 11-year career. Per data from Pro Football Focus, quarterbacks completed only 50.4 percent of their pass attempts when targeting Revis.

Arguably no performance better showcased Revis' greatness than his showdown against Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson in 2010. Johnson, one of the best wide receivers of his generation, was held to one reception for 13 yards on four targets while vacationing on "Revis Island."

Revis overwhelmed many of the wide receivers he faced in the NFL. In the Hall of Fame, he has a worthy competitor in Sanders for the title of best cornerback. Thankfully, Canton has room for both.
