Watch: Ezekiel Elliott’s first TD with Patriots snaps scoreless streak

It took five-and-a-half games and 48 carries before Ezekiel Elliott scored his first touchdown with the New England Patriots.

And it couldn’t have come at a better time.

Elliott’s two-yard score midway through the third quarter pulled the Patriots to within 13-10 of the Las Vegas Raiders and it snapped a Patriots run of 40 drives without an offensive touchdown.

The 12 consecutive quarters without scoring a touchdown were tied for the longest such streak in franchise history.

The last time New England’s offense scored prior to Elliott's touchdown was on a 58-yard touchdown pass from Mac Jones to Pharaoh Brown in a 15-10 win over the New York Jets in Week 3.

This was Elliott’s first touchdown in 10 months; his last came on Dec. 29 as a member of the Dallas Cowboys in a 27-13 win over the Tennessee Titans. Sunday's score against the Raiders was the 69th rushing touchdown of his career. It was the longest into a season Elliott has gone before recording his first TD of the campaign.
