Blues F Kasperi Kapanen (lower body) out through break
Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

St. Louis Blues forward Kasperi Kapanen is likely out through the All-Star break with a lower-body injury that occurred in Monday's 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Kapanen, 27, is expected to be re-evaluated in four weeks following an injury that occurred when he blocked a shot from the Flyers' Nick Seeler in the third period.

The All-Star Game is set for Feb. 3 at Toronto.

"Lower-body injury, probably week to week (and) because we have the break, that will push him until after the break," Blues coach Drew Bannister said.

"I don't foresee any miracle happening. There's always a possibility there, but probably more or less he'll be ready for us after the break."

Kapanen has 13 points with four goals in 42 games for the Blues this season. In nine seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs (2016-20), Pittsburgh Penguins (2021-23) and Blues, he has 90 career points with 41 goals in 202 games.

To replace Kapanen on the roster, the Blues recalled forward Adam Gaudette from Springfield of the AHL. Gaudette, 27, has an AHL-leading 24 goals and has 36 points in 37 games.

In 218 career NHL games for the Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators, Gaudette has 70 points with 27 goals.
