Ducks star Trevor Zegras out 6-8 weeks with broken ankle
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Anaheim Ducks star forward Trevor Zegras broke his ankle on Tuesday and will miss about six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery, the team announced Thursday.

The Ducks also said that defenseman Pavel Mintyukov suffered a separated shoulder in the same game and will miss approximately six weeks.

Playing in his 200th NHL game Tuesday against Nashville, Zegras slid feet-first into the side boards with 13:35 left in the first period and could not put any weight on his left skate as he was helped off the ice.

Zegras, 22, had just four goals and three assists through 20 games this season. He had previously missed 20 games with a lower-body injury.

The ninth overall pick of the 2019 draft and a member of the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2021-22, Zegras has totaled 146 points (53 goals, 93 assists) in 200 games since debuting for the Ducks four years ago.

Mintyukov, 20, was the Ducks' 10th overall pick in the 2022 draft and has 19 points (two goals, 17 assists) in the first 40 games of his rookie campaign.
