Kyle Davis hosted this week's edition of NWA Power which featured matches from the NWA vs. WAOA portion of The World is A Vampire Festival that stopped at Ballarat, Australia's Kryal Castle on April 23rd.

The Southern 6 (Alex Taylor & Silas "Thrillbilly" Mason) defeated Caveman Ugg & Jake Taylor

Davis was in the ring with the competitors and a guy with a knight's suit on. It was Sir Phillip if anyone knows who that is, and he announced that the matches could commence. Thank you, Phillip.

The commentary team was quick to point out that Alex Taylor and Jake Taylor have no relation. Ugg and Jake were destroying Alex, but he got out quickly to tag in Mason. They got the heat on Ugg and worked him over. Part of that was Mason grabbing the nasty Caveman's foot and biting his toes. Gross.

Jake got his own hot tag that was interrupted by Mason and Taylor. Mason hit his signature Thrillride onto Ugg but was quickly thrown out of the ring by Jake who was then thrown out by Alex so he could pin Ugg for the win.

Natalia Markova defeated Aysha by DQ

Aysha was the hometown favorite from Melbourne, and cut a promo before the match talking about how she just got back from a tour in the U.S.

They started hot in this one, going back and forth with armdrags and reversals. You could easily tell Markova was the veteran as Aysha is shockingly only 23. An early cutter by Markova set up a nearfall. Aysha fought back in and got her own nearfall with a Russian leg sweep. A simple counter on the four turnbuckle spots continued the back and forth until they were both knocked down.

They both traded near falls and Markova set up something in the corner but was interrupted by NWA Women's TV Champion Kenzie Paige. She hit Markova with a superkick that ended the match by DQ. Aysha even attacked Paige to show she did not want it to end that way.

Slex defeated Mercurio

The fans really did not like Mercurio, but they did like Slex. Mercurio almost got hot in the match, but Slex's power proved too much. He did play heel though, so he was able to get a few nearfalls until they did a cool near-suplex spot that Slex got the best of.

A few pinning combos and strikes later, Mercurio locked in a rest hold that Slex fought out of, leading to his comeback. After a little delay, Slex finally hit a Blue Thunder bomb, but that didn't put down Mercurio either. They kept going back and forth with Mercurio kicking out of a superplex. The match lost me at this point as these two had no chemistry and just kept going with weird, lackluster work. This match was about eight minutes longer than it should have been and finally ended with a Slexecution out of nowhere for the pin.

NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Kerry Morton defeated Adam Brooks to retain the title

After a long night of wrestling, I was actually excited about this one as I have seen Brooks a few times in Deadlock Pro at the start of the year. Morton cut a complete heel promo before the match, burying the town and the women in the front row. Brooks also talked a bit about how he was going to hurt Morton for the title.

They traded headlocks to start, took it slow, and went at each other in a good way. You could tell when Brooks flipped the switch from being a wrestler to a fighter. He was really dominating until Morton started using the ropes to work over Brooks' arm. This was just perfect heel work from Morton.

Brooks finally turned it around with a leg sweep to the middle turnbuckle. A superplex was teased, but Morton fell off the top rope. Brooks went for a top rope dive just for Morton to get the knees up. They started going back and forth again with action that looked so awesome and so smooth.

Morton got trapped in the corner and right when Brooks looked like he might have a real chance, Morton hit the Showstopper for the win and successful title defense.
