Lazio beat city rivals Roma 1-0 on Wednesday night to progress to the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

Mattia Zaccagni scored the only goal of the game six minutes into the second half when he converted a penalty kick that had been awarded following a VAR review.

Three players were later shown red cards at the Stadio Olimpico.

Highlights: Lazio 1-0 Roma

Lazio forward Pedro was the first to be sent off when he received his second yellow card of the game in the sixth minute of added time.

Roma striker Sardar Azmoun was then dismissed for violent conduct after striking Nicolo Rovella.

Gianluca Mancini's red card came after the final whistle when he was punished for dissent by referee Daniele Orsato.

Bove Hit By Bottle

All three red cards came after a worrying incident in the 76th minute that saw Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove hit by a glass beer bottle thrown from the crowd.

Bove was struck as he was leaving the field to make way for substitute Stephan El Shaarawy.

The bottle hit Bove on the back of his neck before he picked it up off the ground and threw it away from the pitch.
