Bournemouth Set to Land Enes Unal on a Loan-to-Buy from Getafe – £14 Million Fee

Medical and Contract Formalities to Be Completed Soon

Romano revealed that the transfer of Unal to Bournemouth is now confirmed. The Cherries moved quickly to make the transfer happen as the Italian journalist had reported just a few hours before the confirmation that the club is exploring the option to sign the player. The Getafe striker will join initially on loan with an obligation to buy him at the end of the season for £14 million.

There is an obligation to buy clause in the agreement between the clubs. The total package can go higher than £14 million  after the loan spell ends. Unal has given his green light to the transfer and only thing left to do is the medical test after which, the paperwork will be signed.

Who is Enes Unal and What Will He Being to Bournemouth?

The Turkish striker is a lethal goal threat in the opposition’s box, standing at 6’2″, he is also an aerial threat. The 26-year old was a part of Manchester City’s set up from 2015 to 2017 before moving to La Liga. Unal has played for various Spanish clubs including Villarreal, Levante and Getafe.

In last two seasons, he has been finding the back of the net on regular basis. He managed to take his tally to double figures in each of the last two seasons while playing for a lesser side in the league.

The former City youngster is a versatile attacker who can be deployed in multiple areas in attack. He has the ability to hold up the ball well and linking up with his teammates. Unal usually positions himself near the opposition’s box where his smart and quick movements allow him to get into threatening goalscoring positions.

While Dominic Solanke is clearly the priority pick in the striker position, the acquisition of the Turkey international forward offers them strength in depth through a similar profile to the English striker. If the move goes well for Unal, he may look to push for the first-team should Solanke request a move from Bournemouth next season.
