Benjamin Pavard took stock of his first month at Inter, spoke about his preferred role, and more in an interview with DAZN (via Eurosport).

“Everybody knows I can play on the wing too, but I’m more comfortable as a center-back in a three-man defense. I can feature where I’m at my best here and add my experience.”

Pavard motivated his decision to join the Nerazzurri.

“I spent seven years in Germany and felt it was time for a new challenge. Inter came along: a side with great history and legends like Javier Zanetti. It was an obvious choice. We share the same ambitions.”

“I’ve followed Serie A for a long time and a few friends here. It’s a strong league tactical-wise. I can learn a lot here. I’m proud to be part of this club. I play to win trophies, and that’s what I’m hoping for. I want to lift many more with, celebrate the Scudetto, and put the second star on the jersey.”

Pavard stressed the importance of the mental element.

“I’m not a genius like Lionel Messi, but just somebody that always worked hard. Nobody gifted me anything. I had to earn all I got, and I never quit even in the hardest moments. I owe this to my father, who was very headstrong. It’s important to lean on that in the good and bad moments. It’s key to have a great career.”
