Paris Saint-Germain’s advancing to the UEFA Champions League semifinals has reopened the question of whether Kylian Mbappé will stay with the French giants after this 2023-24 season.

Mbappé scored on a penalty kick in the 61st minute and added the insurance goal in the 89th minute, bringing the aggregate score to 6-4. After the 4-1 second-leg win (6-4 on aggregate), manager Luis Enrique was asked about the 25-year-old’s future.

Could an exit from his hometown club still happen, or might this run influence his decision in the project under Enrique? The 53-year-old offered a hopeful message regarding the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner remaining.

“Let’s wait for Mr. Kylian to speak about his future,” Enrique said. “When Mbappé and PSG will speak in public, we will see. It’s like a process. Until Mbappé goes and speaks in public, I’m just here waiting and staying silent.”

PSG are now off to the Champions League semifinal, where they’ll face Borussia Dortmund, whom they’ve already encountered in the group stage this season. The Ligue 1 side are two matches away from punching their ticket to Wembley Stadium in London, where Mbappé could win his first Champions League trophy.
