High pressure far northeast of the state will shift south and dissipate even as a second high builds to the north. Moderate to locally strong trade winds will strengthen to fresh to locally strong on Friday and persist into Monday.

Along north and west facing shores, tiny surf will persist through Friday. On Friday night, a small long-period swell will fill in, triggering a small bump in the surf on Saturday. Lastly, a storm low currently near the Kuril Islands will send another small, long period northwest swell late Sunday that will maintain small surf along north and west facing shores into early next week.

South: For south facing shores, small background south swells will continue through Friday. A new small, long period swell should fill in over the weekend providing a boost in surf along south facing shores through early next week.

East: Along east facing shores, small, choppy surf will become rough and choppy on Thursday in response to the strengthening trade winds. Conditions are expected to persist through the weekend and into early next week. NOAA
