At this point in her career, Becky Lynch is wrestling for the love of the game.

Lynch was profiled for a piece that was published by The Washington Post on Thursday. The writer of the article spent time with Lynch during the media and book signing tour for her new memoir "Becky Lynch: The Man: Not Your Average Average Girl."

In the article, the 37-year-old Lynch said that, while she's already accomplished all of her goals in the ring, she continues to wrestle because she loves it. Still, Lynch knows that she isn't going to wrestle forever.

The Washington Post wrote:

And yet, she has no intention of wrestling forever. She knows that once Roux starts school, the bus life will no longer make sense. Her contract is expiring in the next couple of months. While she has not announced plans to retire, she does say she has done everything she set out to do.

Lynch knows she’s a long way from Dublin and the angsty girl who was told she wasn’t good enough or pretty enough.

'When you’ve accomplished all of the things that you wanted to take off your list, then you get down to: Why do I do this?'

So, why is it?

'Because I love it.'

Lynch and Seth Rollins' daughter Roux was born in December 2020.

With two months left on her deal, Lynch told The MMA Hour last week that talks with WWE about a contract renewal have not begun yet.

Lynch's memoir has reached the New York Times Best Sellers list following its March 26 release.

At night one of WrestleMania 40 this Saturday (April 6), Lynch is challenging Rhea Ripley for the Women's World Championship. If Lynch wins, it will be her first main roster singles title reign since 2022.
