Ole Anderson, Original Four Horsemen Dead At 81

Unfortunately, we have to report the passing of Ole Anderson. He passed away today, at the age 81.

No cause of death was revealed. Stay tuned for more details.

Fellow wrestler, Ricky Morton, shared the sad news on his via his Instagram account.

“Rest in Paradise, Ole Anderson,” wrote Morton. “Taught me so much in professional wrestling. You were tough as nails. You will be missed, my friend.”

He is best known as a founding member of the Four Horsemen. Many consider that stable the greatest in all of wresting.

And, it is understandable seeing who the members and all the titles they won. Not to mention, all the drugs, booze and ladies that followed those men around.

His real name is Alan Robert Rogowski and we worked for all the major promotions at the time.

Originally, he was paired with Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, and Arn Anderson with J.J. Dillon as the manager. Then, Lex Luger took his spot in 1987.

After his in-ring days were over, he became booker for Georgia Championship Wrestling and Jim Crockett Promotions. Plus, he served on WCW’s executive team.

Also, he hated Vince McMahon and did not long well with Flair, Anderson or Blanchard. Basically, his disdain for Vince stems from him buying all the local territories.

Even when the stable was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, he was not present to receive the honor.

Ole was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2007 and his wrestling appearances dramatically decreased. Although, no word if that played a role in his death.

So, from everyone at Ringside Intel, we send our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Ole Anderson.
