Matt Cardona and Steph DeLander will go down in wrestling history as the first-ever Premier Wrestling Showcase World Champion and Women's Champion.
Last night's event was the inaugural show by the Premier Streaming Network, which is co-owned by actor/former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. It was in January of 2023 that Prinze said he intended to build his own wrestling promotion. The promotion would have featured both Karrion Kross and the late Bray Wyatt prior to their returns to WWE in 2022.
Matt Cardona's title victory at last night's event did not come easy. Originally, the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion was scheduled to face Colt Cabana for the title. When Cabana was unable to make it to the show, it was announced that Cardona would Charles Mason & Jacob Fatu in a match not only to determine the first World Champion, but would also see Cardona's House of Glory World Championship on the line.
