Steve McMichael is going to be a Pro Football Hall Of Famer. According to NBC Sports out of Chicago, Mongo will be one of three Chicago Bears announced for Canton during Thursday Night's NFL Honors ceremony.

McMichael was an undoubted force on the NFL gridiron playing a full 15 NFL seasons with 13 of them being for the Windy City, one of which was for the notorious 1985 Super Bowl-winning Bears, led by their defense to which Mongo was a major player to. He's second in all-time sacks for Chicago and is a four-time All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler.

Mongo has valiantly been battling ALS since 2021 and he's had the support of his teammates and fellow wrestling colleagues, most particularly Ric Flair who visits and keeps in touch with the NFL legend.

McMichael found himself in the pro wrestling fold first with WWE during WrestleMania XI as he, along with other NFL stars, was in the corner of Lawrence Taylor during his main event fight with Bam Bam Bigelow.

However, unlike Taylor, Mongo continued to pursue a pro wrestling career where he really began to cut his teeth in a WCW ring. Soon enough, McMichael became a member of the Four Horsemen and won the United States Championship in a match against Jeff Jarrett. He lost that gold eventually to WWE Hall of Famer to Curt Hennig who infamously turned against the Horsemen after teasing that he'd join their ranks following Arn Anderson's retirement. It's actually 24 years ago to the day when Mongo made his final appearance with WCW.

We at SEScoops.com would like to send our congratulations to Mongo and his family for the well-earned honor!
