The tournament to crown new AEW Tag Team Champions begins next week.
It was announced on Collision that the tournament will begin on next week’s show. They have been vacant since AEW Revolution, when Sting & Darby Allin vacated the titles following Sting’s retirement. No teams or a tournament bracket have been officially revealed.
Collision saw FTR come out to express interest in competing in the tournament, promising to win the AEW Tag Team titles for a third time if they get the chance. They were interrupted by Capt. Shawn Dean and Carlie Bravo, The Infantry. They shook hands with FTR, but said that they wanted to give the tag team tournament a “revival”, referencing FTR’s WWE name. Dax Harwood responded by saying The Revival was dead, and if they came across The Infantry during the tournament, they would be too.

Sting & Darby Allin successfully defended the titles at Revolution, defeating The Young Bucks. They had won the titles shortly before Sting’s retirement match by defeating Ricky Starks and Big Bill on the February 7 edition of AEW Dynamite.
