Former WWE and WCW star Steve McMichael's condition has been worsening. A recent report has provided an update on his condition after he was hospitalized.

After retiring from NFL, he made his way to pro wrestling. He made a handful of appearances in WWE and also had a run with WCW.

McMichael's health issues have grabbed the headlines from time to time. He was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and has been dealing with it since April 2021.

John Hopkins Medicine defines ALS as "a fatal type of motor neuron disease. It is characterized by progressive degeneration of nerve cells in the spinal cord and brain. It's often called Lou Gehrig's disease."

It was recently reported by The Chicago Tribune that the veteran star was hospitalized in Chicago and is still under intensive care. The outlet reported that the wrestler had been admitted to the hospital after contracting sepsis. Reports suggest that the 65-year-old was unconscious when he was admitted to the hospital, with antibiotics being administered. He woke up the following morning. However, he was already fighting pneumonia.

'Sepsis is gone'

Wrestling Observer Newsletter has now reported that the wrestler's family has provided a positive update. It has come to light that the sepsis that had set in to send him to the hospital is now gone, but the legend is still battling pneumonia. The sepsis being gone is a piece of good news but he is still battling pneumonia that is dangerous. He will still be in the ICU for a few days on antibiotics but was reportedly "feisty as ever."

We at SEScoops wish him a speedy recovery.
