What Colt Cabana Is Currently Doing In AEW

Colt Cabana has recently discussed his role in All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Cabana made multiple appearances for AEW in 2019 and eventually signed with the promotion in 2020. He was initially involved in a feud with the Dark Order but later agreed to join the faction and competed at the Brodie Lee Celebration of Life tribute show that December. 

Last year, Cabana and Punk's personal dispute would be referenced during the latter's controversial rant following the post-show media scrum at AEW All Out 2022. Punk had poked fun at Cabana for sharing a bank account with his mother.

Colt Cabana hasn't been featured on AEW television since November last year when he challenged Chris Jericho for the ROH World Title. However, he competed on the April 20 episode of ROH TV and has stayed active on the independent scene.

Colt Cabana talks about working as a producer in AEW

Speaking to MuscleManMalcolm, Cabana outlined the details. Malcolm introduced Colt Cabana as a "Big AEW Superstar." Cabana said that he is not sure about being a big AEW star but he did reveal that he assists in backstage works and does a lot of producing. Here is what he said:

"I don't know about big AEW superstar. I'm there, I get a check. Sometimes I get on the shows. I do help backstage, I do a lot of producing."

He was questioned about the match he's produced and Cabana replied the bout between Cassidy and Yuta that took place on the August 16 episode of AEW Dynamite. He said: 

"I was producer for Orange Cassidy and Wheeler Yuta. I was on the headsets and helping the director. As a producer, because I know wrestling, the director might not know wrestling, so I'll be on the headset and I can kind of see, 'You might want to get this angle because this might happen.' It usually does because I've been wrestling for so long, I can foresee it."

Matt Cardona and Colt Cabana are set to fight to crown the very first Premier World Champion at the Wrestling Showcase event on September 9, in Metuchen, New Jersey.
