Last Friday, Kofi Kingston turned a dream into reality in his native country.

Kingston's CLICK for Quality Education Foundation opened its first library and computer center in his birthplace of Kumasi, Ghana. The foundation was launched by Kingston and his mother one year ago. Its mission is to build "top quality computer labs and library media centers for junior high schools across Ghana, particularly in underprivileged areas."

The Kofi Kingston Library and Digital Center is the name of the library that was opened last week.

In a statement posted to social media on Monday, Kingston thanked everyone who made this possible:

WE DID IT!

The Kofi Kingston Library and Digital Center is officially open, up and running! And we couldn’t have done it without all of you! It was such a special day filled with excitement, enthusiasm, optimism, and hope.

HUGE thanks to everyone who donated to the @gofundme! Your generous contributions helped make this vision a reality and we are ever grateful for your willingness to give!

Thank you to all the board members of the CLICK for Quality Education Foundation: Elizabeth Afua Sarkodie-Mensah, Leslie Esi Mensah Osabutey, Catherine Woodworth Wong, and Joanna Hadjicostandi-Anang. They, along with several others, all dedicated their time and effort over the years to make this possible.

We have all come together to make a real difference in the lives of Ghanaian children!

And now, into the future we go!

Kingston was born in Ghana but moved to the United States when he was one year old. In 2019, a WWE 24 documentary followed Kingston as he went back to Ghana to celebrate The Year of Return.

It was also in 2019 that Kingston won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35.

Kingston underwent ankle surgery this March but returned to the ring in August. He's recently been feuding with Ivar of The Viking Raiders. Ivar defeated Kingston in a Viking Rules match on Raw last Monday.
